Location of the object:
The property is situated on the North-Eastern breton coast, at the heart of Saint-Suliac, one of the 10 most beautiful (The Sunday Times) villages of France, at the end of a quiet little street (here often called 'ruette').
The village is embedded within a rather untouched and legally protected area of countryside, on the banks of the fjord-like estuary of the Rance, close to the beaches of the Emerald Coast and surrounded by many tourist attractions (Mont-Saint-Michel, Dinan, Dinard, Saint-Malo, Cancale, as well as the known tidal power station „Usine marémotrice de la Rance“ and close to the so different neighbor region of Normandy).
Among the villages aligned like pearls, each one prettier than the other, along the Rance valley, Saint-Suliac alone has a nice, on summer days highly appreciated, local sand beach; it is at 5 minutes walk from the property.
The quaint place with its 13th century church has its beginnings in the 8th century, has today about 1000 inhabitants, has a baker, grocer, butcher, bar and restaurants, two primary schools, has a rich cultural life. The next huge shopping center is at 10 minutes drive in the neighbor village of St-Jouan. Larger places like Saint-Malo (50.000 inhabitants, at 10km), the main touristic place and ferry harbor to the UK, is reached in 15 minutes drive, and the region's capital Rennes (>300.000 inh.) with airport and universities is at 35 minutes via straight highway (no highway toll in Brittany). Dinard at 17km has an airport with daily Ryanair flights to/from London-Stansted.
All this makes Saint-Suliac the perfect place to live or to spend one's holidays, being within a very nice country side and nevertheless centrally located. The romantic small harbor and the many well preserved old breton houses deepen this impression of an ideal and magic place to be. Admire some pictures of Brittany's splendid coastline.
